Google Redirect Broken: Are you losing traffic?
I’d never encountered this before1. It’s interesting to see some of the things that Google is doing to help combat phishing, malware, crapware, etc. sites.
Wordpress Co-Op Search for Documentation
Anyone who’s ever tried it knows that the search functionality on the Wordpress Codex sucks horribly. In #wordpress, we have a bot that utilizes the Google site:
query attribute to search Google’s listings for the codex, but sometimes you want to be able to search from your own web browser, not by going through an IRC bot.

OpenDNS and Google a Phisher's Delight?
RandyWalker linked me to the entry Google is the new http:// in #wordpress earlier, and I shortly thereafter commented over on Alex King’s blog about OpenDNS’s typo-search feature. You know the one - if you type in a domain that doesn’t exist, rather than giving you the default “Couldn’t find that server” message, you get redirected to a Google-powered search results page instead (containing ads).
