It was four months ago, almost to the day that I first found and read the 2005 Commencement speech that Steve Jobs gave to Stanford University, but the words still echo in my mind on a regular basis. When I wrote that post, I was trying to help out a friend who was having trouble seeing the path life was mysteriously supposed to take, and yet it now seems that I’m the one finding comfort and meaning in those words.

Free Nights Rule
After wrapping up my last Task for my server migration yesterday, I was left with my first actual totally free night in more weeks than I can count. Honestly, when did my life get this busy? I sure don’t remember stepping through that door.

This actually started as a follow-up comment to Abdul’s comment on my The PowerBook Showdown post, where I went through a list of the PHP editors I’d tried on Mac OS X. Back in the FeedLounge Alpha 5 announcement, Alex noted that he needed to update the screenshots on the FeedLounge homepage to include several of the new asthetic changes that had been made to the interface.

UPDATE: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the $_SERVER['HTTP_COOKIE']
variable is no longer being sent to the Akismet servers with each SPAM-check. It seems Matt is still ignoring the fact that anyone ever complained about this, as there’s no mention anywhere that it’s gone. Very disappointing… Haven’t we learned anything from the Sony rootkit crisis? I guess the answer is obviously ‘no’…
