Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed major problems with Adobe and Macromedia’s websites post-merger? It seems like every time I try to do something on either, the page either just won’t load (some kind of error, 404, etc.), or it takes absolutely forever to load…
I just stumbled upon this story today, about How To Fly Without ID. Since I’m more-or-less anti-government intrusion (yes, Google tracking my life is still fine) into my life, it caught my interest.
I threw together a little app to load up some rather large text files into a new SQL Server 2005 database I setup (we’re talking about 6 gigs of text). It’s now been running for 48 hours straight, reading a line at a time, building an insert statement, and passing it to the database.
It’s not often that something brand new hits the internet that provides such an easy basis for comparison. I imagine this likely wasn’t one of the ideas on their minds when they released “SOG” late last week, but Scott and Alex did give me an interesting way to test the search leaders.
I’ve spent the morning updating my Mint installation, and tracking down some really neat Peppers (ie: plugins) for it. Did you know there was a blog dedicated to Mint peppers? Neither did I.
